there are a lot of nasty fingerprints :p
@DanielHeartland is it wi fi ready ?? I’m also planning to get this one.
I have a question for anyone who has this system or has worked on it. I do video editing stuff. I’m currently using a P4 2.8 gig system, 2 gigs of ram and 512 megs agp video card, firewire and adobe premiere CS3 package. Don’t laugh. It’s worked for me for the past 7/8 years with no issues. will THIS system choke with video editing???
@DanielHeartland im not following you, by cooling systems you mean the fan near the PSU or the small fan that sits atop the motherboard ? also i dont think you need to invest a lot in a PC if you are not going run 2 video cards, overclock it etc, i mean even crysis would run good on medium settings on i3 or athlon 2, dont you think ? the only games i plan on getting for pc this year is fallout new vegas, and the witcher, i already have 360 and PS3 for graphics heavy games.
@hoodfigga33
I mean cooling systems. If you want a serious pc, you’ll need to throw some money in to it. But i guess i can see how since PS3 > 360
You’ll need to replace the cooling system so that it doesn’t over heat. Icores allow for quicker multi threading that dual cores.
@DanielHeartland yes im in the same boat as u, see i have my 360 for most of my gaming, but here and there some games are better on PC like dragon age etc, it was 550 last month, now its dropped i guess, i dont wanna spend more than 600, i’ll go to the store and see if they try to rip me off, ill get it online, but what fans are you talking about ? external ? coz i doubt there is room for a 2nd one in that box ? BTW im getting gt250.
@hoodfigga33
Yeah, you’ll need a better graphics card and probably a better fan. It was 550 at the store, plus sales tax = 604. 529 on the internet = 574. all I had was 590 to spend so, yeah. Being 2.9 Gzh, it can handle most games at 3.0 – 3.1 ghz but if you want prime rib you’ll need an i5…
I have a ps3 so whatever…
@DanielHeartland thx for the reply, but why 50 more ? are you referring to sales tax ? i think it will apply if you buy online too ? or is the 50 for something else ? i dunno right now its going for 529, and my local best buy has it, so if i pick up in store it will cost me about 570 approx, BTW can the i3 handle gaming ? i heard its better than athlon x2, i plan on changing the video card and power supply, what do you think ?
@xexodusx
An i5 hyperthreads to make processing faster. Its like a powerful quadcore that has the ability to clock itself higher if it needs to. What that means is if this pc works a 3.1 ghz, if it feels it’s been pushed for processing, it will increase to about 3.4 and i’ve heard some increase to 3.5 and 3.6. Good for gaming, but make sure the cooling system is up to par, you can check i5 chip comments on amazon for that.
@hoodfigga33
I’ve had mine for about a month. It’s a fast processor, boasting the i3 of course, but the special tricks that Icores are known for aren’t on here. For that, you’ll have to get an I5 or I7 (from what I’ve read, an i5 does the trick well enough). Still for the money that you spend, its the best deal around. (Buy it on the internet and then go and pick it up on best buy, because it’s like 50 dollars more in the store i went to. Lots of potential for upgrade
@DanielHeartland yes im getting it from bestbuy too, and its i3 not i5, but did u get your already ? any good ?
Just got it
WOW this guy reviews stuff waaaay better than cnet.
@illmagnified No way, this one has 8GB DDR3 RAM, almost triple the amount
@123dodgecharger obvs the HD5570
i5? The one at best buy, which i’ll be getting says i3.
ok is this processor better than the Intel® Core™2 Quad processor Q8300?? It says on the intel site that this is only a dual core with 4 threads? i dont really know what that means..
Getting this in a couple days. Cannot wait.
i just picked up this computer yesterday! excellent computer! Gateway DX4831-07c, Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU 750 at 2.67Ghz|2.67Ghz,8.00GB ram, 64bitsystem, and the windows experience index is, 7.3 Processor, 7.5 RAM, 6.7 Graphics, 6.7 Gaming Graphics, 5.9 PrimaryHardDisk……sure beats the hell out of my old gateway laptop
At 123dodgecharger nvidia gt240 is better for gaming don’t get ATI that shit is wack
hi just asking
Which one is better ? Gt220,GT240,HD5450,HD5570 among the low profile graphics cards
dual monitor?
the 550 version has 6 gig of ddr 3 ram not 8 gig of ddr 2 like this one its blazing fast i like it its also the quietest pc ive ever had yet has a big nice fan blowing air
i know plenty about pcs infact im a programmer i dont really use ati i like nvidia but thats just me the 200 series is nvidias latest cards they run cooler and have less issues than ati if youre spending so much on 1 card plus the pc u could get gateways fx gaming series at that price me i paid 650 total thats the pc and the galaxy geforce gt220 and i run the new games i want just fine the 210 is weak but the gt 220 is a powerful lil card
ofcourse itll fit but id get a geforce 220 they sell these with 220s in other models it fits perfectly and works fine with the built in powerr supply and its just about as powerful
